Tips and Tricks

Less is more

Keep it simple! When a graphic has too many words people are not going to read it. So if possible minimize the text on the flier or image. Sometimes it is unavoidable, but when it is, definitely avoid it.

QR Codes

A great way to help avoid text overload is using QR codes. If people want more information on the topic they can follow that code to a more detailed description on the library website or FB page.

A great example of this is making a flier for your library of things.

Canva

Canva is one of the best marketing tools a public library can use. The best part is that it’s free, which can be very important depending on the type of budget your library has. It will give you professional quality images, perfectly sized for the platform you are posting on.

If you get the paid version there is also the ability to resize documents you have made to other sizes, which cuts down on staff time duplicating information onto a new Document.
